Dr. Schenck’s decision to pursue a career in oral surgery came somewhat naturally. A student of the Baylor School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he grew up working summers in this practice, which was started in 1982 by his father, Dr. Kenneth L Schenck, Jr. After watching his father work for a number of years, and also taking a close look at a career in medicine, Dr. Schenck made the decision to enter dental school at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. After graduating with highest honors, he entered his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Schenck returned to Chattanooga in 2003, where he practiced alongside his father for 11 years. After his father’s retirement, Dr Schenck continues in solo practice, maintaining the high standards of patient care established over 30 years ago and cultivated by a loyal, dedicated staff.
Outside the office, Dr. Schenck is a fan of all things sports. In the fall, it’s Tennessee football; come winter, it’s North Carolina basketball. But spring and summer for him means triathlon. After competing in his first race at age 19, he continues to have a love of the sport. A definite highlight for Dr. Schenck was completing Chattanooga’s first Ironman triathlon in 2014, thereby fulfilling a long time goal of his.
